A dedicated group of community volunteers, representing all municipalities within the Parry Sound Area, have been working towards the common goal of building a world-class recreation complex.

To date, the group has:

• developed a vision statement
• drafted a strategic plan
• researched and gathered background from previous studies in Parry Sound
• identified key partners and committee members
• identified funding agencies
• met with a variety of people - CAO's to, Ministry officials, and YMCA representatives
• investigated similar complexes across Canada
• discussed capital and operating costs;
• developed a Steering/Planning Committee
• developed a draft master plan for public consumption
